Call Notes Overview

The Call Notes module is a specialized high-speed interface designed for capturing and managing notes during project updates or task reviews. It provides a tabular view for bulk editing custom fields and capturing detailed notes while maintaining a rapid workflow.

  • Project & Task Focused Views: Dedicated interfaces for viewing and updating notes for either Projects or Tasks.
  • Customizable Call Types: Define different "modes" for your calls (e.g., Weekly Sync, Budget Review) with specific column layouts, filters, and editable fields.
  • High-Speed Drafting: Take notes across multiple entries without immediate server saves. Unsaved notes are tracked as drafts and clearly indicated in the sidebar.
  • Batch Submission: Review all your draft notes and submit them in a single batch to generate a consolidated report.
  • PDF Export & Sharing: Automatically generate and share PDF reports upon submission, or download historical reports from the history drawer.
  • Access Control: Configure Call Types as Public or Private to restrict configuration visibility to specific users.

Module Structure

The Call Notes module is divided into two primary sections accessible from the side navigation:

  1. Projects: View and manage call notes for projects. This view supports inline editing of canonical custom fields and creating new tasks.
  2. Tasks: View and manage call notes for individual tasks. This view leverages the standard task table infrastructure for filtering and column management.

Call Types

Call Types are the foundation of the module. They allow you to:

  • Define Display Columns: Choose which standard and custom fields are visible in the table.
  • Configure Filters: Pre-define filters to focus on specific projects or tasks (e.g., "Active Construction Projects").
  • Select Editable Fields: For Project Call Types, choose which custom fields can be edited directly from the right sidebar while taking notes.

Workflow Summary

  1. Select a Call Type: Choose the relevant Call Type from the sidebar to load the pre-configured view.
  2. Capture Notes: Select an entry (Project or Task) and use the right sidebar to type notes. These are saved as local drafts.
  3. Submit Batch: When the call is complete, use the "Submit Call Notes" button in the footer to save all notes and generate a report.
  4. Export/Share: Download the resulting PDF or share the report link with team members.
