Task Settings

Overview​

Task Settings is a capability-gated feature in the Tasks module. It provides access to the Settings tab and its tables and labels, including Configuration Rules, Creation Rules, Applicability Rules, and task-related lists such as Priority Levels, Feedback Categories, and Workspaces.

How to access​

The Settings tab is available in the Tasks header navigation tabs when you have permission (capability-gated). If you do not have permission, the Settings tab is not available.

Key features​

  • Capability-gated access

    • The Settings area is permission required (capability-gated).

  • Configuration rules management

    • View configuration rules in the Configuration Rules Table with these columns: Actions, Name, Created By, Created On.
    • Use available rule-related actions and labels, including Add New Rule, Delete Rule, Delete rule permanently, Rules Search, How Rules Work, Save Changes, and Reset to Default.

  • Creation rules management

    • View creation rules in the Creation Rules Table with these columns: Actions, Name, Type, Created By, Created On.
    • Use available creation-rule labels including Creation Rules Label and ETask Creation Trigger.

  • Applicability rules management

    • View applicability rules in the Applicability Rules Table with these columns: Actions, Name, Apply to Project, Created By, Created On.
    • Use available applicability-rule labels including Applicability Rule, Applicability Rules Label, and Does this task apply to any project?.

  • Task-related lists used in Tasks

    • Work with settings and labels for Priority Levels, Feedback Categories, and Workspaces (including Add Priority Levels, Add Feedback Categories, and Add Workspaces).

Field descriptions​

The following fields and labels are used in Task Settings tables and rule areas:

  • Configuration Rules Table

    • Actions: available actions for a configuration rule.
    • Name: the configuration rule name.
    • Created By: the user who created the rule.
    • Created On: the date the rule was created.

  • Creation Rules Table

    • Actions: available actions for a creation rule.
    • Name: the creation rule name.
    • Type: the creation rule type.
    • Created By: the user who created the rule.
    • Created On: the date the rule was created.

  • Applicability Rules Table

    • Actions: available actions for an applicability rule.
    • Name: the applicability rule name.
    • Apply to Project: the project the rule applies to.
    • Created By: the user who created the rule.
    • Created On: the date the rule was created.
