Document Logs
The Document Logs provide a centralized history of all documents generated from templates within Compass. This audit trail helps teams track document activity and easily retrieve previously generated files.
How to Access
- Open the sidebar and select Documents.
- Click on the Logs tab.
Log Information
The Document Logs table displays the following information for each generation event:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Date Generated | The exact date and time the document was created. |
| Generated By | The name and avatar of the user who triggered the generation. |
| Related Document Template | A link to the template that was used. |
| Related Module | The type of record the document belongs to (e.g., Project, Invoice). |
| Related Record | A direct link to the specific record (e.g., Project Name) used to populate the template. |
| File | A direct link to download the generated file (.docx or .pdf). |
Key Features
- Search & Filter: Use the search bar to find logs by template name, module, or related record.
- Direct Navigation: Click on the Related Record or Template links to navigate directly to those items for context.
- Export Data: Click Export xlsx in the top-right corner to download the current view of logs for external reporting.
- File Retrieval: Since generated documents are stored, you can re-download any previously generated document at any time.
