Document Logs

The Document Logs provide a centralized history of all documents generated from templates within Compass. This audit trail helps teams track document activity and easily retrieve previously generated files.

How to Access

  1. Open the sidebar and select Documents.
  2. Click on the Logs tab.

Log Information

The Document Logs table displays the following information for each generation event:

ColumnDescription
Date GeneratedThe exact date and time the document was created.
Generated ByThe name and avatar of the user who triggered the generation.
Related Document TemplateA link to the template that was used.
Related ModuleThe type of record the document belongs to (e.g., Project, Invoice).
Related RecordA direct link to the specific record (e.g., Project Name) used to populate the template.
FileA direct link to download the generated file (.docx or .pdf).

Key Features

  • Search & Filter: Use the search bar to find logs by template name, module, or related record.
  • Direct Navigation: Click on the Related Record or Template links to navigate directly to those items for context.
  • Export Data: Click Export xlsx in the top-right corner to download the current view of logs for external reporting.
  • File Retrieval: Since generated documents are stored, you can re-download any previously generated document at any time.
