Timesheets Dashboard

The Timesheets dashboard provides a high-level view of your productivity and detailed logs of your time entries.

How to Access

In the Compass sidebar, select Timesheets.

Dashboard Layout

The dashboard is divided into four main sections, from top to bottom:

1. Filters

A dedicated filters strip at the top of the dashboard. Use the Filter button to add conditions and narrow down the data displayed across all widgets and tables below.

2. Summary Widgets

Four summary cards showing key metrics:

TotalTotal logged hours for the filtered period.
BillableTotal billable hours.
Non-BillableTotal non-billable hours.

3. Chart Widgets

Two visual charts below the summary cards:

Hours by ProjectsBreakdown of time spent per project.
Hours by PersonBreakdown of time spent per person.

4. Timesheets Widget

The main section containing your time entries. It includes:

  • Header — Contains the Create New Timesheet button (permission-gated), Export xlsx button, and Table Actions (column visibility and grouping).
  • Month Selector — Navigate between months using left/right arrows. The year updates automatically when you cycle past December or January.
  • Weekly Summary — A horizontal bar showing each week of the selected month with total hours. Click a week to filter the tables below.
  • Travel Time Table — Entries of type "Travel Time" for the selected week.
  • Desk Time Table — Entries of type "Desk Time" for the selected week.

Table Columns

Both the Travel Time and Desk Time tables share these columns:

Related ProjectThe project this entry is linked to.
DateThe date the work was performed.
TypeDesk Time or Travel Time.
PersonThe user who logged the entry.
Total HoursDuration in decimal hours.
DescriptionSummary of the work performed.
BillableWhether the entry is marked billable.
Applied DayrateThe rate applied to this entry.
FeeCalculated fee (hours × hourly rate).
BudgetThe linked budget item.

Table Actions

Use the Table Actions controls in the header to:

  • Toggle column visibility — Show or hide specific columns.
  • Group entries — Group by one of 5 options: Project, Date, Type, Person, or Billable.

Detail Drawer

Click on any entry row to open a detail drawer on the right side. The drawer shows:

  • Header — Entry type, project, and date.
  • Info Section — Person, Related Project, Related Budget, Related Travel Request, Description, Applied Dayrate, Fee, Last Modified.
  • Notes — View and add notes for the entry.
  • Attachments — View and manage attached files.

Using the Weekly Filter

  1. Select a Month using the left/right arrows.
  2. Click on a specific Week in the weekly summary bar.
  3. The Travel Time and Desk Time tables update to show only entries for that week.
