Two-Factor Authentication

Learn how two-factor authentication (2FA) works in Compass and how to use it when signing in.

Overview

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Compass account. When 2FA is enabled for your account, you'll need to provide both your password and a verification code to sign in.

How 2FA Works

When 2FA is required for your account:

  1. Sign in with your email and password
  2. Receive a code - A 6-digit verification code is sent to your email or generated by your authenticator app (depending on how 2FA is configured for your account)
  3. Enter the code - Enter the code on the 2FA verification page
  4. Access granted - Once verified, you're signed in to Compass

Signing In with 2FA

Step 1: Enter Your Credentials

  1. Go to the Sign In page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Enter your password
  4. Click Sign In

Step 2: Verify with Code

After entering your credentials:

  1. You'll be redirected to the 2FA verification page
  2. A message will show that a code was sent to your email, or you may use your authenticator app to get the code (depending on your 2FA configuration)
  3. Get the 6-digit code from your email or authenticator app
  4. Enter the code in the verification field
  5. Click Verify or press Enter

Step 3: Complete Sign-In

  • If the code is correct, you'll see "Authentication successful"
  • Click Continue to access Compass
  • If the code is incorrect, you'll see "Your Authentication Failed" and can try again

Resending the Code

If you didn't receive the code or it expired:

  1. Click Resend Code link on the 2FA page
  2. A new code will be sent to your email
  3. Enter the new code

Note: Codes expire after a short period. If your code doesn't work, try resending.
