Billing Dashboard
The Billing Dashboard summarizes invoices and payments across the workspace. Use it for a high-level view of what has already been billed, then open Open Items when you need to see what still needs an invoice.
What The Billing Dashboard Answers
The Billing Dashboard helps finance and department leads answer questions such as:
- How many invoices exist in the selected period?
- What total amount has been invoiced?
- How much remains unpaid?
- Which recent invoices need review or follow-up?
Available widgets depend on your role, workspace setup, and dashboard configuration. Invoice tables use the same status and amount records as Billing -> Invoices, so opening a row takes you to the full invoice.
Choose The Right Billing Dashboard Widget
Billing Dashboard widgets answer different questions, so select the one that matches the finance review you are preparing.
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Number of Invoices | How many invoices are in the selected period. |
| Total Invoice Amount | Invoiced value for the selected period. Cancelled invoices are excluded. |
| Unpaid Invoices | Invoiced value that is still owed. Paid and cancelled invoices are excluded. |
| Cancelled Invoices | The value of cancelled invoices in the period selected on the widget. |
| Outstanding Amount | What approved Budget work is currently available to invoice, split by currency. |
| Uninvoiced Open Positions | Actual-cost Invoice Positions that are open and billable. |
Use the invoice widgets to monitor documents already raised. Use Outstanding Amount and Uninvoiced Open Positions to spot future billing work. These figures do not replace the detailed review in Open Items.
Dashboard Versus Open Items
The Dashboard and Open Items answer two different questions.
| Area | Main question |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | What have we already invoiced, and what has been paid? |
| Open Items | What work or approved amount is still available to invoice? |
For example, a Service Revenue budget can have 10,000 EUR in open positions and no invoice yet. The amount appears in Open Items, not as invoiced revenue on the Dashboard. After you create and issue the invoice, the invoice appears in Dashboard and Invoices views.
Use Filters And Invoice Details
Use the Dashboard filters to focus on a period, project, recipient, status, or other available field. The exact filters depend on the widgets placed on your dashboard.
Open an invoice from a table to review its recipient, projects, performance period, lines, totals, timeline, and payment history. Use Billing -> Invoices when you need a larger working list with more table controls.
Scheduled Reports
If your role has access to scheduled dashboard reports, use Scheduled Reports to distribute a saved Billing view on a regular timetable. Scheduled reports are useful for recurring finance reviews, but they do not create, send, or update invoices.
Confirm the filters and recipients before activating a schedule. A report follows the saved dashboard scope, so a broad workspace view can include more projects than expected.
