Managing Absence Requests
Guide for managers and administrators on reviewing, approving, and declining team absence requests.
Viewing Pending Requests
There are two main ways to identify requests requiring your attention:
1. Dashboard: Open Approvals Widget
The Open Approvals widget on your Absence Dashboard provides an immediate list of pending items. This is the fastest way to review outstanding requests without navigating away from your home screen.
2. Absence Requests Tab
For a detailed view or to find historical requests, navigate to Absence Requests.
- Filter: Use the status filter to select Pending.
- Search: Find requests by specific employee name.
Processing Approvals
Reviewing a Request
Click on any request row to open the details view. You will see:
- Request Summary: Employee, dates, total days, and type.
- Conflict Analysis: The system will display any potential project conflicts or overlapping absences that were flagged during submission.
- Attachments: (If applicable) Medical notes or other supporting files.
Taking Action
- Approve: Validates the request. The days are deducted from the employee's balance immediately.
- Reject: Declines the request. You are required to provide a reason via a dedicated decline modal, which is sent to the employee.
Request Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Awaiting manager review. |
| Approved | Confirmed and finalized. |
| Rejected | Declined by an approver. |
| Cancelled | Withdrawn by the employee before approval. |
