Projects Dashboard
Overview
The Projects dashboard is your starting point for working with projects in Compass. From this feature, you can access the Projects module, where projects act as the central organizational unit and include sub-modules for planning, budgeting, team management, and document tracking.
How to Access
In the Compass sidebar, go to Projects and select Dashboard.
Key Features
From the Projects dashboard, you can work with projects and access project-related capabilities available in the Projects module, including:
- Create new projects using customizable templates (blueprints) (see also: ./blueprints.md).
- Assign team members to a project with specific roles and permissions.
- Track the project timeline using Primary Target Completion Date and Secondary Target Completion Date.
- Monitor project health using Risk Type and Risk Adjusted Completion Date.
- Manage project settings and configurations (see also: Project Settings).
- View related projects and parent/child project relationships (see also: Related Projects).
- Manage project expenses, billings, and dayrates (see also: Expenses, Billings, Dayrates).
- Track documents and files for each project (see also: Documents).
- Record project information such as notes, contacts, surveys, and travel (see also: Notes, Contacts, Surveys, Travel).
Field Descriptions
Projects in Compass use the following fields:
- Project Name: The name of the project.
- Primary Target Completion Date: The primary target date for completing the project timeline.
- Secondary Target Completion Date: A secondary target date for completing the project timeline.
- Stage: The project’s stage.
- Status: The project’s current status.
- Risk Type: The project’s risk type used to monitor project health.
- Risk Adjusted Completion Date: The completion date adjusted based on the project’s risk.
- Parent Project: The parent project linked to this project (used for parent/child project relationships).
- Private Project: Indicates the project is private.
- Internal Project: Indicates the project is internal.
- Primary Project Director: The primary project director for the project.
- Secondary Project Director: The secondary project director for the project.
- Additional Workspaces: Additional workspaces associated with the project.
